Following the community meeting on 20 October 2018, the Steering Group recommended to Council ‘That the Tarawera wastewater system consists of onsite LPGP systems for each property and that the system trunk main connect to the Lake Okareka system via Tarawera Road’.
Cultural impact and archaeological assessments
A Cultural Impact Assessment was undertaken in 2019 and an Archaeological Survey and Assessment was undertaken in 2023. Both these documents are available on the Tarawera Sewerage Scheme project page on Council’s website
