Citizenship ceremonies in Rotorua
In Rotorua, citizenship ceremonies are held in the Council Chamber at the Civic Centre, 1061 Haupapa Street.
Ceremonies last around two hours, from 1.30pm - 3.30pm. Candidates are advised to arrive 30 minutes before to ensure you are seated on time and are required to stay for the ceremony's entire duration.
An afternoon tea will be served at the citizenship ceremony.

Becoming a New Zealand citizen
Applications to become a New Zealand citizen must be made to the Department of Internal Affairs. You can find information on this process in the citizenship section of the NZ Government website - (govt.nz) or by phoning them on 0800 22 51 51.
After your application is accepted, the Department of Internal Affairs will send you an invitation to attend your ceremony at Rotorua Lakes Council approximately three weeks before the event. The next ceremony date is shown above.
