Tarawera Sewerage Pipeline Faults

Subject: Official Information request - potential or actual Tarawera sewerage scheme pipeline faults
I refer to your Official Information request of 6 March 2025 regarding the Tarawera sewerage scheme pipeline potential or actual faults, specifically:
- As per the map from the Rotorua Lakes Council website, full details of all reports and communications received from both external parties (residents, home owners) and internal parties (contractors, assessors, project team, mana whenua, council representatives), which describe any potential or actual pipeline faults for the completed sections (identified in green on the map).
- Detailed records of each reported incident relating to potential or actual pipeline faults for the completed sections, including remedial course of action and communication strategy to ensure all interested parties are notified of the faults without delay.
- Details on risks that any reported potential or actual pipeline faults would/could have on the remaining stage 1, and stage 2.
- Details of correspondence and conversations between Fulton Hogan and Rotorua Lakes Council relating to potential or actual pipeline faults.
- Details of correspondence and conversations between Rotorua Lakes Council and Iwi rōpū (i.e. Te Putaiki or Tarawera, Tūhourangi Tribal Authority, Te Arawa Lakes Trust and Rotokākahi Board of Control) relating to potential or actual pipeline faults.

These documents have been developed in conjunction with Council and various third parties (TRILITY, Stantec, Fulton Hogan), and describe the measures undertaken to eliminate/minimise the risk of any potential or actual pipeline faults. No correspondence has been carried out with residents/home owners in developing these protocols.
