Topic: ANZAC services
Enquiry
I am covering the ANZAC Civic Service tomorrow and am seeking some photos to be supplied of the service, and a comment from the Mayor after the service has finished. Unfortunately, I am unable to attend in person, hence the need for supplied photos.
If I could speak with the mayor via the phone after the service for some comment on the service that would be great.
And any photos from the service that could be supplied and sent to me would be greatly appreciated. If the images could be sent by 12pm tomorrow at the latest.
Response
Arrangements were made to provide photos. The Mayor was not able to do a phone interview but the reporter was provided with the link to the civic service livestream and informed she was welcome to use what the Mayor says at the service

Topic: NZTA speed limit consultation outcomes
Enquiry
Reporter asked Mayor Tapsell for comment on the outcome of NZTA speed limit consultation for sections of state highway in the Rotorua and BOP areas.
Response
From Rotorua Mayor Tania Tapsell:
“It’s been positive to see that most of the feedback has been listened to and we thank the many locals who took time to share their views.
“But playing with speed limits won’t fix the underlying safety problem that NZ Transport Agency decided not to invest any more into, such as upgrades on Rotorua State Highways for the next three years.
“This is despite Council having provided plans and community aspirations for safety improvements in places like Waipa State Mill Road, and industrial areas near the Rotorua Airport, almost ten years ago.
“So while we’ll take these speed changes as a win, we won’t give up the fight to see the investment that Rotorua deserves to be safer and also support the growth happening in our district.”
