Alcohol Licensing Reports
Annual Reports to the Alcohol Regulatory Licensing Authority (ARLA)
Each year every Council is required to provide an annual report on the proceedings and operations of its District Licensing Committee (DLC) to the Alcohol Regulatory Licensing Authority (ARLA) for the period ending 30 June. ARLA is the overarching national body set up under the Sale and Supply of Alcohol Act 2012 to ensure that the law for alcohol licensing is fairly applied. It is a tribunal which sits within the Ministry of Justice.
These reports are produced by the Alcohol Licensing team under staff delegations. Council is required to publish the last 5 years of these Annual reports as per Section 199(5) of the Sale and Supply of Alcohol Act, which are shown below. Each report is available for information on this web page, usually in September of each year.
Please note: Council will upload the 2025 – 2026 information as soon as that is available, that should be completed in the next month or two.
