Subject: Official Information Request - Fluoridation Information
I refer to your Official Information request of 12 August 2026, for information regarding Fluoridation Information.
Question:
Confirm the treatment plant(s) and water distribution zone(s) now being fluoridated as a result of the directive (using Taumata Arowai Treatment and Zone IDs e.g. TP00001, WDZ001WZ).
Answer:
- Matipo treatment plant (TP02995) and Utuhina treatment plant (TP00288) which both supply water into Rotorua City (ROT003RO) distribution zone.
- Eastern treatment plant (TP00279) which supplies water into Rotorua Eastern Suburbs (ROT001RE) and Okareka (ROT001RO) distribution zones.
Question:
Confirm the date each water distribution zone started fluoridation in DD/MM/YYYY format.
Answer:
Council started intermittently dosing fluoride into the above distribution zones from the 28/03/2025 while Council completed commissioning of the plant.
Commissioning was completed on 07/05/2025 and full automatic dosing commenced.
Question:
Provide fluoride monitoring data in a table format (spreadsheet or CSV) including the Taumata Arowai supply component name, Treatment or Zone code, date of fluoride sample, fluoride value, unit of measure.

- Online monitor results from all 3 treatment plants.
- Data supplied is minute data and for the 2 Week period from 4 August 2026 through to the 18 August 2026.

Monitoring data for all 3 plants:
- from commissioning in 07/05/2025 until now, at a
- weekly or daily level.
- Three separate SCV files, one for each plant is fine.
