Subject: Official Information Request - Drinking Water Quality Monitoring
I refer to your Official Information request of 10 August 2026 for information regarding Drinking Water Quality Monitoring.
Questions:
The most recent 12 months of drinking water quality monitoring results for each supply scheme that Rotorua Lakes Council operates, including where measured: free available chlorine (minimum, median and maximum), pH, turbidity, E. coli and total coliforms.
The most recent chemical determineand results for each treatment plant or scheme, including metals, trihalomethanes, haloacetic acids, fluoride and nutrients, with measured values, units and detection limits.
Answer:
Please find the document Sample Results 10.08.2025 to 18.08.26 HERE.
Please find definitions below for the site names that correspond to supplies within the link above.
| ROTC | Central supply | ROTE | Eastern supply | OKA | Okareka supply |
| ROI | Rotoiti Supply | ROM | Rotoma supply | REP | Reporoa supply |
| REP | Hamurana supply | KAH | Kaharoa supply | MAM | Mamaku supply |
- Any of the site names with a number next to it (e.g ROTE-04 or REP-02 etc.) means it was taken from a sample tap within that water supply area.
- REP has two different sources for this supply, REP-SCE is Wharepapa source located on Handcock Road and DC-SCE is for DeepCreek source located on East Road.
- Anything with SCE next to it means it was taken from the source prior to any treatment.
- Please note HAM and KAH share the same source water, so results will be shown as KAH-SCE which covers both source water samples.
- Please note OKA and ROTE share the same source water, so results will be shown as ROTE-SCE which covers both source water samples.
Please also a copy of the Water Services Regulations 2022, which set out the maximum acceptable values (MAV) for the possible determinands in the water HERE.
