Subject: Official Information Request - Insurance Coverage

I refer to your Official Information request of 29 April 2026 for information regarding insurance coverage.

Question:

Since January 2025, if Council has received communication from insurance companies advising that they will no longer be providing insurance cover for properties within certain areas of Rotorua.

Answer:

Council has not received any advice from insurers about any areas within the Rotorua region that would be considered uninsurable.
