I refer to your LGOIMA request of 25 November 2025 regarding Rural Building Consents.

Please find response below for your requests:

How many rural building consents have been in Rural Rotorua District for 2023, 2024 and 2025.

List of Rural house numbers in the district.

Council has 6,409 properties classified as 'Rural' in its rating information database.

'Growth predictions' that the Council may have for the region for 2026 and beyond Rural housing.

Councils Rotorua Housing and Business Development Capacity Assessment 2024 Update report contains the below dwelling projections from the Medium Growth Future (which is Councils referred scenario)."By 2054 (the long term), total district dwelling demand is projected to reach 39,900 dwellings, with 33,300 in the urban environment. The urban-rural structure remains broadly similar over time, with a slightly greater share in the urban environment by 2054, due to a slightly faster projected rate and inclusion of latent demand within reporting areas."
