I refer to your Official Information request of 8 October 2025 for information regarding Rotomā-East Rotoiti Sewerage Scheme as at 30 September 2025.
Please note that the information regarding connections requested has not changed as per the previous update provide as at the 30 April 2025 as per below:
Current Status of Scheme Completion
Questions
- Total no of units installed on private properties at 30 April 2025:
No new installations have occurred since the 31 January 2025 update, so the numbers remain as per previous information supplied.

- Total no of existing private properties within the area without units installed
- The status of existing private properties without units installed. Ie the reasons why these installations haven’t taken place and the number of properties effected by these reasons.
East Rotoiti:

Legal Handover = 15 | Owners have refused connection. Legal enforcement is underway via RLC and BoPRC. |
OSET = 4 | Owners wish to retain existing OSET systems. Referred to Haumingi 9B3B Trustees for review. |
Māori Land Court = 30 | Complex ownership issues delaying installation. Resolution depends on judicial processes. |
Pending Installation = 16 | Awaiting sufficient participation to proceed cost-effectively. |
RLC to finalise = 9 | Issues include tracing owners, property sales, and ongoing dialogue. |
Marae = 6 | Marae's Design work is currently underway with Iwi to identify the system configuration required to accommodate Marae “super events.” |
