Subject: Official Information Request - Rates Capping proposed by LGNZ

Kia ora,

I refer to your Official Information request of 4 July 2025 for information regarding the rates capping proposed by LGNZ.

Questions

If your Council chooses to vote in favour of the LGNZ remit proposing the anti-rates cap campaign, I request the following official information:

1. The names of every Elected Official who:
- voted in favour of the LGNZ proposal to mount the anti-rates cap campaign.
- voted against; and
- abstained.

2. All correspondence since 1 May 2025 between your Council and LGNZ, related to capping rates.

For the avoidance of doubt, if the Council votes against the LGNZ remit/proposal, I do not require the above information, and the request can be withdrawn .

Answer

Rotorua Lakes Council has voted against the LGNZ proposal, therefore Council has withdrawn the LGOIMA request.
