Subject: Official Information request - Lake Tarawera Sewerage Reticulation Scheme funding

I refer to your Official Information request of 22 January 2025 for ‘please provide all correspondence between RLC and MfE that provides evidence of 75% community support for the Lake Tarawera Sewerage Reticulation Scheme, as was required by MfE as a condition of the $6.5M Freshwater Improvement Fund grant, which had been rescinded by the Minister, to be returned in August 2022’.

There was no requirement by the MfE as a condition of the $6.5M grant to provide evidence of 75% community support.

For your information, attached is a copy of the Freshwater Improvement Fund Deed of Funding between Ministry for the Environment and Rotorua Lakes Council (PDF, 9MB).
