Subject: LGOIMA request - East Rotoiti/Rotoma

I refer to your LGOIMA request of 6 January 2025 asking for confirmation whether Council has issued invoices to the ratepayers of East Rotoiti/Rotomā for the sewerage scheme, and confirm the amount of the invoice when it is issued.

For the 2024/25 rating year (from 1 July 2024) the rates invoices for properties within the boundary of the East Rotoiti/Rotomā sewerage scheme included a Targeted Rate line for payment of the sewerage scheme capital contribution over 25 years. For the 2024/25 year this was $1,791.70 (GST inclusive).

The those ratepayers who have indicated they wish to pay the capital contribution in a lump sum, a separate invoice is issued. For the 2024/25 year this was $22,486.24 (GST inclusive). Once the invoice is paid, the Targeted Rate line on the rates invoice is removed and a new rates invoice is issued.
