Subject: LGOIMA request – Public Tree Removal and Planting Records

I refer to your LGOIMA request of 16 October 2024 regarding public tree removal and planting.

1. Records of public tree removals between January 1st, 2022, and October 16th, 2024, including:

• The locations of trees removed.
• The species of trees (if available).
• The reasons for removal (e.g., disease, development, safety concerns).

2. Records of public tree plantings for the same time period, including:

• The locations of trees planted.
• The species planted.
• Any associated planning or urban greening strategies for these plantings.

Attached is a spreadsheet which has two sheets – ‘trees felled’ and ‘trees planted’ – as provided by Council’s works department.

The ‘trees felled’ spreadsheet shows the size of tree removed, the location, details of the request and the work undertaken in the field.

The ‘trees planted’ spreadsheet shows the size of the tree planted, location, and work undertaken in the field. Some tree species are recorded in the field notes.

3. Any reports or assessments related to urban tree management or the overall strategy for public tree planting and removal within your jurisdiction from January 2017.
