I refer to your online Official Information request of 1 August 2024 and respond below to your various questions regarding Council’s operations and interactions with the public during the current triennium:
Complaints about YouTube Live for public meetings
- How many complaints has the council received about the YouTube live stream for public meetings not working, failing, or having issues?
1 official complaint has been received.
Emails to Elected Councillors
- How many emails do the elected councillors receive from the public that are answered?
- How many emails do the elected councillors receive from the public that are left without reply?
- How many unique emails do the elected councillors receive from the public?
- How many of these unique emails are replied to?
Council does not keep a record of the number of emails received or answered by elected members.
Public contract with Elected Councillors
- When the public contacts councillors via the available channels, do council staff or anyone else have access to this communication (even for security purposes)?
Elected members ‘rotorualc.nz’ Outlook accounts can be searched by senior staff in the Information Technology team for a specific purpose/topic ie: for a LGOIMA request.
The Mayor’s office staff have direct access to the Mayor’s Outlook account.
Council Facebook page interactions
- How many messages, posts, statuses, clips and pictures does the council’s Facebook page receive? How many of these are replied to uniquely?
Council does not keep a record of the number of messages received, or how many are uniquely replied to.
