Subject: LGOIMA request - SHMC building painting

I refer to your LGOIMA request of 5 July 2022 regarding the SHMC exterior painting. I respond below as per your email:

1. Please supply the brand, colour and type of paint applied to the exterior of the northern wing of the SHMC building?

Resene ‘Bokara Grey cc’ [N28-005-068] and Resene ‘Half Bokara Grey cc’ [N33-002-017].

Resene Sonyx 101 with CoolColour – semi-gloss and Resene X-200 with CoolColour – acrylic membrane (paint system differs dependant on substrate)

2. Please supply the Light Reflective Value (LVR) of the paint applied?

Resene ‘Bokara Grey cc’ [N28-005-068] and Resene ‘Half Bokara Grey cc’ [N33-002-017] have a LRV of 5 and 7 respectively, however their Total Solar Reflectance (TSR) value, using Resene’s CoolColour technology is higher than this.

3. Has the paint manufacturer issued a warranty for the paint? If so, how many years?

Resene has a 10-year product guarantee for film integrity and adhesion, and a 12 year applicator warranty.

4. Who specified the exterior paint colour for the plaster cladding system?

Specified by Shand Shelton. Note: The banquet hall is reinforced glass fibre panels not plaster cladding.
