Promotion/competition terms and conditions

For competitions run by Rotorua Lakes Council

Entries

1. Only open to residents of New Zealand who are at least 18 years old.
2. The Rotorua Lakes Council will not accept responsibility for any late submissions, any entries that are not received or any entries or files that are incomplete, corrupt, damaged, lost or inaccessible.
3. By participating in the competition, you agree to be bound by the terms and conditions, including all eligibility requirements. You also accept that all decisions made by the Rotorua Lakes Council are final and binding in all matters relating to the contest.
4. The Rotorua Lakes Council reserves the right to cancel the contest at any time, for any reason and without prior notification, and reserves the right to disallow entries in its absolute discretion and without giving reasons.
5. The Rotorua Lakes Council reserves the right, at any time, to verify the validity of entries and determine the eligibility of entrants (including an entrant’s identity and age) and to disqualify an entry or refuse to award a prize where false or misleading details have been given by an entrant, or where an entrant has behaved in a fraudulent or dishonest manner, or otherwise than in accordance with these terms and conditions or the spirit of the promotion.
6. By entering this competition, you agree that you have the consent of any people who are clearly identifiable in your entry.
7. By entering, each entrant warrants that their entry is original and that their submission does not or will not infringe any third party's intellectual property.
8. The Rotorua Lakes Council may collect your personal information (name and contact details) for the purpose of administering and processing the competition only. Under the Privacy Act 2020, entrants have the right to access and correct any such personal information. Entrants may access and request correction of any of the details about them held by contacting the Rotorua Lakes Council via the contact information at the bottom of this page. 9. This promotion is in no way sponsored, endorsed or administered by, or associated with, Facebook, Instagram, LinkedIn, TikTok or any other social media channel used by Rotorua Lakes Council.
10. Except for any liability that cannot be excluded by law, the Rotorua Lakes Council (including its officers, directors, shareholders, employees, advisors, assignees, agents, licensees, representatives, advertising and promotional agencies), excludes all liability (including negligence), for any personal injury or any loss or damage (including loss of opportunity), whether direct, indirect, special or consequential, arising in any way out of the Promotion.
11. As a condition of participating in the promotion, the entrants indemnify the Rotorua Lakes Council, all organisers, sponsors and all other persons and organisations associated in any way with the promotion against all claims, damages, liabilities, costs and expenses (including legal fees on a solicitor and client basis) which an entrant may incur arising out of their participation in the promotion and/or the travel and tour associated with it, howsoever caused.

Eligibility

You must be:

• a legal resident of New Zealand
• over the age of 18

You cannot be:

• an employee of the Rotorua Lakes Council, or a prize sponsor.
• an immediate family member of an employee of the Rotorua Lakes Council or a prize sponsor. Immediate family includes the spouse, defacto spouse, child, parent or sibling.

Prizes

1. Winners will be advised by phone or email.
2. Winners have one week to contact us to claim their prize. In the event that the prize is not collected within this time, a re-draw will choose a new winner under the original terms of the prize draw.
3. The prize will be presented at a time and place arranged by Rotorua Lakes Council. Arrangement may, at the discretion of Rotorua Lakes Council, be made to deliver the prize to an address in New Zealand.
4. If an entrant cannot accept the prize for any reason, that prize will be void and no compensation will be payable.
5. Once awarded, Rotorua Lakes Council nor any other entity associated with the promotion will not be liable for any part of the prize that has been lost, stolen, forged, damaged or tampered with in anyway.
6. In the event that the prize becomes unavailable for any reason beyond Rotorua Lakes Council's control, the Promoter may in its sole discretion decide to provide an alternative prize.

Sir Howard Morrison Centre competitions

All of the above terms and conditions apply to competitions run on the Sir Howard Morrison Centre channels.

Maximum of 4 free tickets will be given away with any ticket giveaway competition.
