Workshop on Wednesday for Creative Communities grants
The second round of funding for Rotorua District Council's Creative Communities Scheme grants will open on 26 August.
Groups planning arts, crafts or cultural projects are invited to apply for funding. Approximately $28,000 is available for this round and applications close on 27 September.
In the meantime, a workshop Stretching the Imagination' will be held on Wednesday 7 August at 5.15pm at the Rotorua Community Youth Centre in on 6 Te Ngae Road (opposite Countdown supermarket entrance). The meeting is open to anyone with an interest in providing arts activities and who would like to know more funding to support their project.
To be eligible for a Creative Communities Scheme grant, projects must meet one or more of the following three key funding criteria:
create opportunities for local communities to engage with and participate in arts activities;
support the diverse arts and cultural traditions of our local community, and enrich and promote their uniqueness and cultural diversity;
enable and encourage people under 18 years of age to engage with and actively participate in the arts.
