Summer Reminder: Let's Take Care of Our Green Spaces!
Look after your street trees
Christmas holidays are extra special with lights and decorations adorning local streets. However, fairy lights can actually cause damage to trees. If strings of lights are forgotten or left in place too long, it can stunt growth and kill off the layers of bark as the tree grows. There is also a risk of damage to your festive decorations if contractors don’t see them when carrying out routine street tree maintenance.
Please help us protect local street trees by removing fairy lights and any other decorations as soon as possible after the holidays.
