Rural Community Board by-election voting open
Voting for the Rotorua Rural Community Board by-election is open with two candidates vying for one vacant position.

Residents have to be living in the rural area of the Rotorua district to vote for the rural board.
Voting is by postal vote using the First Past the Post (FPP) electoral system and closes at midday on Thursday 19 October.
People who live in the rural areas of the Rotorua district but are not on the electoral roll, those who will be out of town during the voting period or those who do not receive voting papers will be able to cast special votes at Rotorua Lakes Council’s Civic Centre.
Voting papers can also be dropped off at the Civic Centre.
Enrolment and Special Voting Arrangements
Residential electors within the Rotorua Rural Community Board area who are not listed on the final electoral roll for this by-election can enrol or amend their enrolment details on the electoral roll on or before 5pm, Wednesday 18 October 2023:
- Online at www.vote.nz
- By texting your name and address to 3676 to get a form sent to you
- By calling 0800 36 76 56 to ask for a form to be sent to you
- By email request to enquiries@elections.govt.nz
Rotorua Rural Community Board ratepayers who live outside the Rotorua Rural Community Board area and who are not listed on the final electoral roll for this by-election can enrol on or before 5pm Wednesday 18 October 2023 by completing and returning a ratepayer enrolment form, available from the Rotorua Lakes Council office or website.
Special voting facilities for the by-election will be available during normal office hours from the Rotorua Lakes Council’s Civic Centre, 1061 Haupapa St, Rotorua from Wednesday 27 September until midday on Thursday 19 October 2023.
