Vote 2022 Preliminary results
Preliminary results are in for this year's local elections in Rotorua - see below - and show that more people have voted this year than in the past three local elections.
The Preliminary Result, which includes votes that came in Saturday morning but excludes some special votes, has Rotorua at 46.46% voter return with the Final Result still to come.
Voter turnout as at the Final Result for 2019 was 45.15%, in 2016 was 45.99% and in 2013 was 43.44%.
Final results, which will include the last of the special votes, are expected to be released on Thursday or Friday and will be publicly notified.
The newly elected Council and community board members will officially take office the day after public notification.
The inaugural meeting for the incoming elected members is scheduled for 21 October when they will be sworn in. Induction of the newly elected members will follow.
