What happens next?
A proposal to inform elected member’s decision-making is being created, including a report on the Ngakuru, Upper Atiamuri and Horohoro community’s feedback. In order to provide a service and charge rates accordingly, elected members would need to vote in favour of extending the waste collection service.
The proposal will be presented at Council’s Strategy, Policy & Finance committee on 9 September 2021, and the Rural Board will make a recommendation to extend waste services only for sealed roads in Ngakuru, Horohoro and Upper Atiamuri.
Elected members will vote to decide to adopt/not adopt the extension of the waste service in the full Council meeting on 23 September 2021.
You can watch both of these meetings online via the video livestream at rotorualakescouncil.nz/livestreaming
Council will contact Ngakuru, Upper Atiamuri and Horohoro households with updates on the proposed waste service extension when they are available.
