Enquiry
A reporter requested information about the SNA discussion at today’s Strategy, Policy and Finance Committee meeting.
Response
Information provided:
A report went to our Strategy Policy & Finance Committee this morning on Rates Remission for SNAs. You can read the report on page 39 of the Agenda. The majority of the Committee supported the recommendation; “That the Committee recommends to Council to amend the rates remission policy, as set out in Attachment 2 of this report, to provide for a remission of $5 per hectare for rateable land that is identified as an SNA in the Rotorua District Plan where the area of rateable land that is identified as an SNA is a minimum of 20 hectares.”
This will now go to our full Council for a final decision on Thursday 24 June.
Today’s meeting was livestreamed and you can watch the recording of the SNAs discussion HERE.
Information about recent changes made to the District Plan regarding SNAs is also available HERE.
