This Sunday (16 August) from 3pm Rotorua residents can enjoy the distinct sound of the ukulele in the Rotorua Museum mezzanine. Open to both players and non-players alike, UkeBox is a forum for all who enjoy ukulele music.
Rotorua's own ukulele group, the Thermaleles, will begin with a short performance followed by a community sing and play-along, and an open mic session for anyone who would like to perform.
The sessions are run by the Thermaleles in conjunction with David Jensen who is currently running ukulele lessons at Mokoia Community Centre. Sessions will include hands-on learning opportunities demonstrating the art of ukulele playing.
UkeBox runs every third Sunday in the month at 3pm and entry is free - although a gold coin donation to UkeBox will be appreciated.
