A list of the best places to visit in 2015 published by the UK's Guardian newspaper includes a valuable mention for Rotorua.
The Guardian's popular travel supplement, read by millions, lists New Zealand among 40 destinations in its Holiday hotspots: where to go in 2015' travel feature.
It talks about New Zealand's co-hosting of the ICC Cricket World Cup and singles out Rotorua's growing mountain bike reputation for special mention with a photo of Skyline Rotorua's new mountain bike facility. The article says:
the country's great-outdoors appeal is sure to get an added push from having the world's first year-round gondola-accessed mountain bike park. The Skyline Rotorua Mountain Bike Gravity Park opened last year and will be the first southern hemisphere venue for the Crankworx mountain biking festival, running from 25-29 March.
Rotorua has secured the rights to host the only southern hemisphere staging of Crankworx for three years from 2015.
