City buzzing with Rotorua Marathon participants

Between 20,000 and 30,000 out-of-town visitors - including participants, officials and supporters - are in Rotorua this weekend for events related to today's 50th anniversary Rotorua Marathon (Saturday 3 May).
Over 9,000 people are taking part in the full marathon, half marathon, 10km or 5km events.
Road closures for the event today are as follows:
Queens Drive: 6am to 6pm (Princes Gate arch to Energy Events Centre)
Arawa Street: 7.45am to 11am (Hinemaru St to Ranolf St)
Fenton Street: 7.45am to 11am (from Arawa St to Whakaue St)
Ranolf Street: 7.45am to 11am (Arawa St to Lake Rd)
Parks Road: 7.45am to 11am (entrance off Ranolf St)
Lake Road: 7.45am to 11am (Ranolf St to Fairy Springs Rd - Koutu Corner)
Arawa Street: 11am to 5.30pm (Fenton St to Hinemaru St - lake side only)
Hinemaru Street: 7.45am to 5.30pm (Amohau St to Queens Dr/Princes Gate - Gardens side only)
Hamurana Road: 9am to 1.30pm (corner Unsworth Rd to SH33 junction at Mourea)
