Images by local photographers on display
26 January 2014
Rotorua Museum's latest offering, Second Glance, an exhibition by amateur photographers from the local Camera Club, opened this week.
Many of the photographers featured have gained recognition at club, national and international level and are dedicated to achieving excellence.
Second Glance is on display in the Museum Caf as part of a series of changing exhibitions which are free to the public to view. The exhibition features images of icy landscapes, vibrant mud pools and unforgettable animals, alongside more abstract impressions from the world around us.
Selected by Rotorua Museum curator, Karl Chitham, each photograph shows the technical ability and diversity of subject matter explored by the club's members.
Rotorua is home to fantastic artists of all kinds. The art on display in the Museum Caf and the Rotorua Museum Art Awards are just two ways the museum is supporting local artists to showcase their work, said Mr Chitham.
