Chiefs playing Blues at Rotorua
9 February 2014
Back-to-back Super Rugby champs, Waikato/Bay of Plenty Chiefs play their only New Zealand pre-season fixture, against the Blues, at 6pm on Friday 14 February at Rotorua International Stadium.
Rotorua District Council's Events & Venues general manager Peter McLeod said it will be the first time the Chiefs have played in Rotorua since they became Super Rugby champs in 2011.
The match will provide a hit-out for both teams just a week before their season openers, and will provide fans with the opportunity to see Blues coach John Kirwan's new star recruit, Benji Marshall, in action.
Families are encouraged to bring home-made picnics to the park (no alcohol or commercially branded take-away food is allowed), and food and beverages can be purchased on-site.
Ticket prices are: adult general admission $15; children 14 and under $5; 4 years and under free. Gates open at 5pm.
Tickets are available from the TicketDirect kiosk at The Warehouse in Rotorua, Rotorua Convention Centre and Rotorua i-SITE Rotorua, and online at www.ticketdirect.co.nz or by phoning on 0800 4 CHIEFS.
