Patience urged during Fenton Street re-seal
8 February 2014
Rotorua District Council is urging motorists to take extra care and be patient as works get underway next week (from Monday 10 February) to re-seal a major stretch of Fenton Street.
The scheduled maintenance work will be along the southern end of Fenton Street between Victoria Street and the Sala Street roundabout
The council says that subject to weather conditions, the project is expected to take two to three days. Fenton Street will remain open to traffic throughout but there could be some delays at busier times of the day while sections are reduced to single lane traffic.
RDC Works manager Peter Dine says this stretch of Fenton Street was last sealed around 12 years ago and was scheduled to be re-sealed this year as part of a planned renewal programme. The work is co-funded by New Zealand Transport Agency (NZTA).
