Top football in Rotorua on Sunday
Rotorua residents get a rare chance to see New Zealand's top professional footballers in action this weekend when a Wellington Phoenix selection side takes on a New Zealand-based All Whites team.
The match will take place at Rotorua International Stadium on Sunday (22 September) at 2.30pm and is coming to Rotorua as a result of negotiations by Rotorua District Council's Events & Venues unit, The Phoenix Club and New Zealand Football.
The teams are being managed by two experienced A-League coaches in the Phoenix's Ernie Merrick (151 games) and New Zealand's Ricki Herbert (154 games).
Phoenix internationals Glen Moss, Andrew Durante, Ben Sigmund, Leo Bertos and Jeremy Brockie will play for New Zealand A, while Michael Boxall and under-20 internationals Luke Adams, Louis Fenton and Tyler Boyd will stay with the club side.
Gates open from 10am with an exciting pre-match activities on the programme. There will also be a Kidzone and halftime entertainment.
Tickets to the event are on sale now at the Rotorua Convention Centre's Ticketmaster outlet and at www.ticketmaster.co.nz. Ticket prices start at $15 for adults, $7.50 for children, and $35 for a family (2 adults, 2 children).
