Damian Marley to headline Raggamuffin
Damian Marley.
Bob Marley's youngest son and three time Grammy award winner, Damian Marley, will headline next year's Raggamuffin Festival taking place in Rotorua from Friday 31 January to 1 February.
Events & Venues general manager, Peter McLeod, said Damian Marley is the biggest reggae act yet to appear at Raggamuffin.
"Rotorua will be his first concert of the year, and he is unlikely to perform anywhere else in 2014, so bringing him to Raggamuffin is a major coup."
Mr McLeod said Shaggy will also return to Rotorua as the headline act for the Friday night line-up which will boost crowds and extend visitors' stay to further the economic impact from Raggamuffin.
The Friday night show will be presented in the main arena at Rotorua's International Stadium, allowing expansion of the Festival Village.
Other international acts are Morgan Heritage, Groundation, and Rebel Souljahz, while Kiwi acts include Tiki Taane, House of Shem, Three Houses Down, and Sons of Zion. Further international and local acts are to be added to the bill.
Tickets go on sale at Ticketmaster on 24 September with a 24 hour special, followed by an early bird offer until Christmas. Installment payments will also be available.
