Customer Centre team wins two awards at ALGIM awards
RDC Customer Centre staff celebrate their ALGIM awards.
Rotorua District Council's Customer Centre team hosted the annual ALGIM Customer Service Symposium at the Convention Centre this week and also came up trumps at the event's awards evening.
The event is the leading customer service conference in New Zealand, with Customer Centre managers and representatives from local government throughout the country.
The RDC team won the 2013 ALGIM Local Government Customer Service Team of the Year Award, while the council's online coordinator Margaret Cunningham received the 2013 ALGIM Professional Development Award.
Customer Centre manager, Roanna Dunn, said she was overwhelmed by the feedback the team received from judges.
"Our nomination was regarded as a 'stand-out and comprehensive entry' from judges.
"They noted that our team has an obvious customer focus, while at the same time, we are a tight-knit and highly motivated group of people who promote a positive team environment internally - because a happy team equals happy customers."
Ms Dunn said she was pleased that Ms Cunningham's efforts had also been recognised at a national level.
"Margaret has demonstrated a willingness to work hard to upskill in order to keep up in the ever changing world of technology.
"She has recognised the potential of social media as a communication tool for Rotorua District Council and has a passion for engaging customers through this medium."
