Rotorua International Airport's new chief executive Alastair Rhodes and new director Ray Sayer were both officially welcomed yesterday (25 March) to their new roles by airport company chairman Ray Cook.
Alistair Rhodes comes to the airport from a senior management position at Air New Zealand, while new board member Ray Sayer is an international aviation business consultant who has made Rotorua his home.
Mr Rhodes says he will be spending the next few months gaining an indepth overview of the airport's business from those who work for and with the operation.
The airport is a complex business but it's an operation that's absolutely critical to the region and its growth, and as a result I want to spend the time accessing opportunities and defining the strategy over coming months. As part of this I'm looking forward to taking the airport - and the community with it - into a new phase that materially contributes to the region's development.
