Rotorua Bike Festival a mix of the unconventional
20 January 2013
The Rotorua Bike Festival is a mix of the unconventional, like the Shweeb World Championships, and more mainstream cycling events such as mountain biking, BMX and road cycling.
The MoreFM Bike Expo on Friday 15 and Saturday 16 February will have exhibits to interest all bike fans, including examples of Rotorua bike builders' skills from Jeffson, Graeme Pearson and the Red Stag Mill's wooden Renovo mountain bike.
Cycling Rotorua is coordinating the Rotorua City Street Criterium on Sunday 10 February, which will incorporate the Bay of Plenty Cycling Clubs Criterium Points Trophy, and proceed into the heart of the Rotorua CBD.
This event will be followed by the Rotorua Festival Bike Parade which offers anyone with a bike the opportunity to participate.
Events & Venues' Martin Croft said Victoria Grove Costumes will available at the Government Gardens prior to the parade to help cyclists "pimp" their bikes.
"It's a great opportunity for kids and adults to get involved in the festival, to dress up and have some fun.
