Biological Curiosities & Strange Behaviour from the World of Wildlife
Join Dr Alison Campbell (associate Dean, Lecturer Biological Science, Waikato University) for an entertaining journey through some of the by-ways of biology, looking at the science that underlies some of the weird, and sometimes downright kinky, curiosities of the biological world.
The talk will be held at Rotorua Museum in the classroom on Friday 31 August at 5.30pm.
Dr Campbell's areas of expertise include the disparate fields of animal behaviour and science education, with a particular interest in students' understanding of the language of science; gaps in student knowledge (and how to bridge them); and attitudes to the theory of evolution.
Tickets cost $5 per person and bookings are required. Please phone William Yip on 07 351 7829 or email william.yip@rdc.govt.nz.
