Enquiry
I'm writing an article on which councils in the wider Waikato region livestream their meetings.
In light of this, I have a few questions I'm hoping you can answer for me asap.
1. Does your council livestream its meetings? (yes or no)
2. Does this include committee meetings, or just full council meetings?
3. If not, does your council plan on livestreaming its meetings at some stage?
4. How much did this cost the council in the last financial year? (If this question will push your answers past the deadline, feel free not to answer as I need a response today please.)
Response
From Rotorua Lakes Council DCE Organisational Enablement Thomas Collé:
1. RLC has been livestreaming committee and Council meetings since 2015, and has recently added Audit and Risk Committee meetings and elected member workshops. We are currently also livestreaming hearings being conducted by independent commissioners on a district plan change. People can watch live via RLC’s YouTube Channel or later with recordings available via RLC’s YouTube channel.

4. Nil - RLC has livestreaming capability internally via a livestreaming system installed in the Council Chamber and IT support available to set up other meeting rooms for livestreaming.
