How to pay
There are a number of ways to pay an invoice. These are outlined on your invoice and include:
- Paying on-line with a credit or debit card
- Paying through on-line banking
- Paying in person
The details you need
Whichever payment method you use, you will need the following details from your invoice:
- the particulars; and
- the code
The particulars and code details are unique to the invoice type and the person responsible for the payment. These details enable council to see which invoice has been paid.
These details are located at the bottom of the invoice in the ‘Ways to pay’ section.
Paying on-line with a credit or debit card
You can use this service with any credit or debit card.
In the boxes provided, enter:
- the Particulars and Code details
- your email address
- the name of the person the invoice is addressed to
Then:
- tick ‘I am not a robot’
- click ‘Continue’
This will take you to Payment Checkout and show the amount you are paying.
In the boxes provided:
- enter the credit or debit card details required, then
- click ‘Submit’
Internet
To pay by internet banking:
- log in to your bank account
- select your bill Payment function
- click ‘Payee’ and use the search function to search for ‘Rotorua Lakes Council’ (you do not need the bank account number)
- select ‘Rotorua Lakes Council…. Misc Invoice Payments’ and the correct bank details will be entered automatically
- enter the amount to be paid
- click statement details and enter the Particulars and Code details from your invoice
- click approve payment
If you experience difficulty with your internet banking contact your bank's Customer Service 0800 number.
In person
Pay by cash, EFTPOS or credit card at the Customer Service Centre in the Civic Centre, 1061 Haupapa Street, Rotorua from 8am to 5pm weekdays (except public holidays).
- Remember to bring the invoice as you will need the payment details.
