Subject: Official Information request - Tarawera sewerage scheme
I refer to your Official Information Act request of 15 May 2023 regarding responses from the Tarawera community to the letter from Council dated 3 February 2021, specifically:
- Number of affected ratepayers who acknowledged receipt of the letter
- Number of those who returned their signed acceptance of the scheme proposal
- Breakdown of affected property owners who may have provided only conditional acceptance; or acknowledgement of receipt of letter only
- Provide any minutes or staff notes/memos and/or council resolution/s in relation to this survey to confirm the basis for the subsequent decision to commence the scheme
275 ratepayers acknowledged and returned the letter of 3 February 2021. Of these:
- 185 returned their signed acceptance of the scheme proposal
- 75 returned their signed acceptance of the scheme in principal
- 15 returned the signed letter, however indicated they were against the scheme proposal
There are no minutes or staff notes/memos in relation to the responses from the letter of 3 February 2021, however please find the attached council reports and recommendations/resolutions:
