The new parking system has been in place for two months and council is inviting the community to share feedback.
The new system has kept similar features, including free 60-minute parking in Zone 1, traditional street meters, coin payment options and $2 per hour parking for stays less than three hours. New features include virtual meters, a new app and permits for all-day parking.
Early data indicates that the system operating as intended and that people are becoming more familiar with the changes. This survey will help council better understand the community’s experience and will establish a baseline to inform future evaluations including the six-month review and upcoming Long-term Plan discussions.
It’s unlikely the survey feedback will lead to significant changes to the overall system between now and the six-month review however, community feedback could highlight opportunities for improvement or identify unforeseen issues needing to be addressed.
Understanding how the system is settling in is part of council’s commitment to continuous improvement and can also help improve the way we communicate and share information with residents.
