Mural makes its mark at Eastside park
The ongoing partnership between mana whenua, community and Council has created a space that will provide for the community for many years to come. The recently planted pōhutukawa trees are starting to bud ahead of the festive season, the new seating provides space for whānau to sit an enjoy their time in the park and the new artwork uplifts the space for those using it as well as everyone driving past.
We encourage the wider community to come and check out the new art, walking around the wharepaku reveals all the detail and beauty created by the local rangatahi.
Puketawhero Park is a key sporting facility, destination playground and taonga (treasure) to the Eastside community. Follow Tatau Pounamu on Facebook for rangatahi and whānau events in Puketāwhero Park this coming summer.
