Still time to have your say on draft 2023/24 annual plan
Thank you to those who have so far taken the time to provide feedback on the draft 2023/24 Annual Plan. We're keen to hear from more of you and there's still time!
The draft plan, which is out for consultation until 12 May, sets out what services, work and projects will be delivered to you during the next financial year (the 12 months from 1 July 2023).
To address budget challenges Council is also proposing changes to some services, delaying or stopping some things and increasing fees and charges.
We’ve received more than 1000 pieces of feedback since consultation opened last month and are keen to hear from more of you about proposals relating to services, projects in your community.
Feedback can be made online, by email or in hard copy as well as via Rotorua Lakes Council’s Facebook page on any of the posts related to annual plan consultation. There are also still two consultation events to come, both on Monday 8 May. See more details below.
Why do we want your feedback?
Elected members want to hear what the community thinks about what they are proposing for the 2023/24 financial year. Your feedback is important for final decision-making and all feedback will be taken into consideration.
Your water supply, wastewater and stormwater networks, the footpaths and shared paths you bike and walk on, the streets you drive, the parks and playgrounds where your tamariki/children play, public facilities where you attend events, rubbish and recycling, community safety, civil defence, building services, animal control, liquor licensing and more – are delivered to you by Council. So it’s important you have a say on what’s planned.
