Proposed Te Ngae Road Alcohol Ban zones – Have your say
News
Rotorua Lakes Council adopted a proposal to consult on making temporary alcohol ban areas permanent. This proposal identifies Alcohol-Free Zones in public places that had been recorded in Council and police reports to have high crime rates linked to alcohol. The bylaw enforced alcohol free zones temporarily for 12-months to provide a ‘trial’ period in which Council could quantify the success of implementing such measures.
After a successful period, Council now wishes to make the following temporary zones permanent.
- Rotorua Community Youth Centre Reserve
- Marist St Michaels Sports Park Reserve
- Shambles Theatre Reserve
- Council Lots 2, 3, 4, 5 DPS 65170
Do you support the current Temporary Alcohol Ban zones on Te Ngae Road reserves, being made permanent under the Rotorua District Ban Bylaw 2018?
Public consultation will be open from 12th September to 17th October 2022.
