Drop-in Session - Housing Plan Change and Future Development Strategy
Council is hosting a drop-in session next week to provide an opportunity to learn more about two key pieces of work that are part of work happening on multiple fronts to address Rotorua’s critical housing shortage.
The drop-in session on Wednesday, 8 June, will be held the same day as two of our Rotorua For Tomorrow – Housing Information Series.
It will be a chance to learn about and discuss the upcoming housing Plan Change and a Future Development Strategy that will look at Rotorua’s ongoing development from a spatial perspective.
The purpose of the Plan Change is to enable greater housing choice in Rotorua by amending current rules.
The Future Development Strategy (FDS), meanwhile, will form the basis for integrated, strategic and long-term planning for our district. Also known as a spatial plan, an FDS helps local authorities set the high-level vision for accommodating urban growth over the long term.
Drop-in session - Housing Plan Change and Future Development Strategy:
Date: 8 June
Time: 2pm to 5pm
Location: Rotorua Library at Te Aka Mauri
There are also two housing information sessions on Wednesday 8 June, at 1pm and 5pm.
