A qualified arboriculture consultant has assessed an oak tree at Hamurana Reserve which has a split in between the two main branches. This has been picked up during routine inspections.
This assessment determined that the tree needs to be removed. The split has caused damage to the structural integrity of the tree that cannot be managed through remedial work.
Work will begin on the removal of the tree tomorrow (Wednesday 18 May) through to Friday 20 May.
A significant area of the reserve will be cordoned off to ensure safety of both the arborist crew and the public while this work is taking place which means there will be no access to this area of the reserve during this time. Safety signage will also be in place.
