Topic: Summer events
Enquiry
I have been tasked with writing a piece for our Sat magazine (running on Boxing Day in the BoP Times and Rotorua Daily Post) that will be a 'your guide to summer in the Bay' - what's on when and where, travel, accommodation, staying safe at festivals, may need to touch on vaccine passports, water safety, etc. This can be anything from boxing day to Akl anni weekend. Do you guys have any events and/or info you'd like to pass on for this? I will be filing the story on the 16th so I need to receive the info before then.

Check Rotorua Nui for the most up to date event information
The event world has been in a state of flux since New Zealand went into lockdown again in August 2021. With changing COVID-19 guidelines and levels leading to last minute event decisions, Rotorua Nui has become an important website to find out the most up to date information on Rotorua events.
Developed and launched in August 2020, Rotorua Nui aims to provide our community and visitors a one-stop shop for all their Rotorua event information. It also offers event organisers a free place to promote their events to a wide audience.
As it celebrated its first birthday in lockdown we also recognised the importance of the Rotorua Nui website in sharing event amendments, postponements and cancellations quickly and efficiently.
Because of all of these event changes, the tough decision was made not to distribute the normal printed quarterly event calendar in spring and over the summer. A physical calendar will immediately become out of date, while the website is updated instantly.
Rotorua Nui is becoming well known as the place to find fun and interesting events of all types - from sports to culture and everything in between – really showcasing what a fantastic place Rotorua is to hold events all year around.
Head to the website to receive monthly event newsletters, competitions and surveys!
