Community Grants and Partnership Agreement recipients announced
The latest round of Rotorua Lakes Council Community Grants and Partnership Agreements have been awarded to a wide range of local organisations.
The funds are available every three years to recipients to create a strong social base, meet local needs and make a difference in the community.
Community grants range between $1000 to $5000 per annum for a three year period for small to medium-sized community organisations. The Partnership Agreements provide support and/or financial assistance to local community sector organisations that align with Council's goals and vision, are addressing inequity and contribute to community wellbeing. These high trust agreements support core organisation functions and key outcomes.
The funding allocation for both Community Grants and Partnership Agreements for the 2021 to 2024 period was determined by a panel of elected members.
Panel member Councillor Sandra Kai Fong says the panel had a difficult job with very worthy applicants for both the Community Grants and Partnership Agreements.
“Both funds were oversubscribed, so every application was analysed and considered carefully.
“We have a Long Term Plan with one focus being on community safety, so we were happy to receive applications that assist us with that kaupapa,” Cr Kai Fong says.
