Malfroy Road watermain renewal starts next week
10 September 2021
As part of Rotorua Lakes Council’s annual infrastructure renewal programme InfraCore will be replacing the watermain along Malfroy Road between Pukehangi Road and Old Taupo Road.
Work will begin next week (Monday 13 September) and it is expected to take about seven months to complete. All going well, the renewal will be complete in April 2022.
Contractors will complete the work in stages. The first section to get underway will be from Pukehangi Road to Westbrook Place. Residents, schools and businesses in the first section will have received a notification letter about the work and as subsequent sections are scheduled, residents in those areas will be notified.
Residents, schools and businesses in affected areas will also receive further information prior to any planned water shutdowns.
Plans are in place to ensure any disruption to residents, pedestrians and motorists is as minimal as possible and the majority of the work will be in the berm area.
Any questions can be directed to Rotorua Lakes Council’s Customer Centre on 07 348 4199.
