Stadium lounge naming rights for local electrical firm
A well known Rotorua company has cemented its relationship with the Rotorua International Stadium by taking on naming rights to one of the stadium's corporate lounges.
The Hepburn Electrical Lounge is the new name for the Stadium's Southern Lounge, which hosts VIPs and client guests with a premium view of the playing field. The heated lounge features two 50 screens, and a kitchen and bar.
The lounge is also a meeting venue for private functions and operational event planning when being used for major events.
Hepburn Electrical is a longstanding supporter of community projects including Rotorua KartSport Trust, Rotorua BMX Club, Lakeside concerts, Lakes Event Medic, Rotorua Night Market, Ronald McDonald House, Girl Guide jamboree, schools, gala events, and several non-profit local organisations.
The company was formed in 1973 and founder Norm Hepburn, who sadly died last year, was known to have a soft spot for the stadium. He was instrumental in developing the electrical systems throughout the venue and for installation of the field floodlights in 1998.
He was also a regular at Chiefs and Steamers games enjoying the social atmosphere and a beverage in what is now the Hepburn Electrical Lounge.
Hepburn Electrical managing director Tony Feeks said sponsoring the corporate lounge was a logical next step for the White St business. Hepburn Electrical now employs 24 full-time staff, able to service domestic, commercial, industrial and rural electrical requirements.
The affiliation with the venue fits well with our branding and extends our support for community events and venues.
Events & Venues operations manager Crispian Stewart said the new name reflects the work the firm has put into the Stadium, as well as the passion of the people involved.
Hepburn already does quite a lot of work at the venue and has signage at the Stadium, but when this opportunity developed, it seemed like a nice fit for our relationship, he said.
We believe Hepburn Electrical will get good value from the sponsorship. We want to work with companies that are a good fit with our operation. Hepburn is known locally and this will extend their brand in the city, while it also adds to our venue.
