Road works in the central city

Road works in the central city

Starting this week there will be a number of road resurfacing works taking place in the central city.

Whakaue Street (Tutanekai St to Fenton St) on the 9th and 10th March (Day time)
Fenton Street (Whakaue St/Fenton St intersection) 11th and 12th March (Day time)
Rangiuru (Pukaki St to Lake Road) 14th and 15th March (Day time)
Pukuatua St (Ranolf St to Amohia St) 6th and 7th April (Night time)
Hinemaru St (Queens Dr to Pukuatua St) 10th and 11th April (Day time)
Fenton St (Fenton St and Pukuatua St) 5th April (Night time)

There will be some detours whilst the works are being undertaken, however the pedestrian footpath will remain open. Residents in these areas are requested to park vehicles off the road during this time.

As you may be aware there are a number of resurfacing works taking place around the city at this time. This is because the warmer months are the best time for resurfacing as daylight hours are longer and the warm temperatures and dry air help the new seal stick to the road surface.

As such, this work is whether dependant and may have to be postponed if weather effects the programme

Council and its contractor Fulton Hogan Ltd apologise for any inconvenience caused by these works and will make every effort to ensure disruption is kept to a minimum.
