Meri Kirihimete from Mayor Chadwick

23 December 2019

The festive season is a time to celebrate and be grateful – for what we have and for the people in our lives, particularly our whānau and friends.

It’s also a good time to reflect on what has been achieved in the preceding year and to look forward to what’s ahead.

On behalf of myself and your elected Council, I would like to wish you all a happy festive season, a wonderful and safe summer, and a happy and successful year ahead.

We have certainly had plenty of reminders during the past year about the fragility of life and the importance of making the most of time with whānau and friends.

Enjoy the summer in our wonderful “back yard” but be safe – take special care on our roads and in and on our waterways, and look after one another.

After a busy year I am looking forward to the opportunity to slow down and enjoy time with my loved ones.

As a Council we look forward to continuing to work with you, our community, in 2020 as we work towards achieving our priorities for the benefit and success of our district and its people.

Mā te mahi tahi, kia tutuki ai ngā moemoeā. Working together, we can achieve our aspirations.

Meri Kirihimete!
